Get to Know Moriah, Academic Coach
Moriah brings a passion for literacy, communication, and student growth to her role as an Academic Coach. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Education in Reading and has spent the past seven years helping students become stronger readers, writers, and critical thinkers. Moriah’s favorite part of working with students is helping them discover their own voice and confidence while developing the skills they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom. She believes that every student can thrive when learning is intentional, engaging, and tailored to their individual needs.
Where Moriah Makes an Impact
With seven years of teaching experience in Spring Branch ISD, Moriah is an experienced English educator specializing in reading, writing, and literacy. As an English teacher, Writing Instructor, and ELA II Team Lead, she teaches academic writing, literary analysis, rhetoric, and research while developing curriculum that meets both state and university standards. Her dedication to student success earned her recognition as a Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2023. Before entering the classroom, Moriah served as an Education Director, where she led curriculum implementation and staff development. She enjoys helping middle and high school students strengthen their reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and critical thinking skills while building the confidence to succeed in and beyond the classroom.

When she’s not working with students, Moriah enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and taking long walks. She also loves reading, writing, crocheting, and exploring all things related to the arts. Whether she’s creating something with her hands or getting lost in a great book, she enjoys activities that encourage creativity, reflection, and lifelong learning.

She strives to approach each day thoughtfully, making intentional choices that positively impact her students, colleagues, and community. For Moriah, being intentional means creating meaningful learning experiences, building genuine relationships, and helping students recognize the value of their own potential.
