Get to Know Alyssa, Academic Coach
Alyssa brings a background in psychology, education, research, and child development to her role as an Academic Coach. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston. Alyssa loves working with students because she enjoys creating a supportive environment where they can feel comfortable, build confidence, and discover their own strengths. Her experiences working with children have reinforced her belief in the importance of meeting every student where they are and helping them grow from there.
Where Alyssa Makes an Impact
Alyssa has extensive experience supporting children and students across academic, developmental, and therapeutic settings. She currently serves as a Practicum Student Therapist, providing mental health services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders under clinical supervision. She also works as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Houston, supporting undergraduate humanities coursework and helping students navigate course material. Previously, Alyssa worked as a Behavior Technician, providing Applied Behavior Analysis services and implementing individualized intervention plans for children with developmental disabilities. Her experience also includes research on parent-mediated interventions, as well as supporting children receiving occupational, physical, and speech therapy. At The Enrichery, Alyssa works with students in Math from kindergarten through 8th grade and ELA from kindergarten through 12th grade, including high school literature.
Did You Know?
Alyssa is originally from the DFW area and moved to Houston for graduate school. Outside of work and school, she loves spending time with friends and family, especially when they can play games or watch movies together. She’s also a big fan of arts and crafts and is always looking for a new creative project to try. When she’s ready to unwind, there’s nothing better than getting cozy with a good book and a blanket.

She enjoys celebrating the successes of others, learning from the people around her, and contributing to a team where everyone feels that their work matters. She believes that when people work together toward a shared goal and support one another along the way, everyone has an opportunity to grow and succeed.
