Get to Know Jada, Academic Coach

Jada brings a passion for health, science, and helping others to her role as an Academic Coach. She is a senior at the University of Houston pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Biology, and she hopes to build a career in healthcare. Jada loves working with students because she wants them to feel supported and confident as they work toward their goals. As a visual learner herself, she understands that finding the right learning strategy can make all the difference, and she enjoys helping students discover study methods that work for them.

Where Jada Makes an Impact

Jada has gained valuable experience serving her community through healthcare and public health initiatives. She spent a year volunteering at Memorial Hermann Southwest, where she supported a variety of hospital departments, including Mother & Baby, the Emergency Room, Endoscopy, and Family Medicine. She has also volunteered with the Texas Food Bank and Harris County Public Health through the Wellness on Wheels event, helping distribute food and provide free health screenings to community members. At the University of Houston, Jada was involved with Cubs Storytime, where she read books with grade school children and led questions and activities to make learning fun and memorable. She was also a member of the American Medical Women’s Association and served on its Public Health Committee, researching and presenting information about health issues affecting Houstonians. Jada tutors Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, and Genetics and is happy to work with students of all grade levels, including elementary and middle school English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Did You Know?

Jada is a big fan of journaling and collecting stickers, and she would love to share fun stickers or stationery with students who enjoy them too! She is also a video game enthusiast who loves Pokémon, Minecraft, and Super Mario. As a visual learner, Jada enjoys using creative study techniques like mind mapping to break down complex subjects, especially in upper-level science courses.

Jada’s favorite core value is Win as One because she wants every student to know they are part of a supportive team. She believes that learning is a shared journey and that working together can help students find the right path toward their goals. By guiding students, encouraging their progress, and helping them build confidence, Jada hopes to equip them with strong academic skills and positive values that will stay with them for a lifetime.
