Get to Know Manal, Academic Coach

Manal brings a unique combination of science, technology, research, and education to her role as an Academic Coach at our Memorial West location. She is currently pursuing a major in Biochemistry with a minor in Data and Society, building on her Associate of Arts from Lone Star College. She has also earned certificates in AI Ethics, Machine Learning, and Digital Humanities from the University of Houston. Manal enjoys helping students make sense of challenging concepts and believes that learning is an opportunity to discover both what you’re capable of and what you’re passionate about.

Where Manal Makes an Impact

Manal has experience in both tutoring and independent research. She has worked as a tutor at the University of Houston since the beginning of 2026, helping students strengthen their academic skills and confidence. She also recently completed the 2026 Pharis Fellowship, a 10-week self-driven research program where she investigated the relationship between unweatherized homes, chronic health, and nighttime benzene plumes in East Houston. Her interdisciplinary background allows her to approach problems from multiple perspectives while encouraging students to think critically and creatively. At The Enrichery, Manal tutors AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, AP Biology, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus, as well as elementary Reading and Math.

Did You Know?

Manal is a proud cat parent to a very spoiled—and very loved—fat cat! When she’s not tutoring or studying, she enjoys playing video games and spending time in the kitchen baking. Whether she’s working through a challenging game or trying out a new recipe, Manal loves activities that let her be creative and have fun.

Favorite Core Value

Manal’s favorite core value is Roll Up Your Sleeves (and Own It) because she believes in taking pride in who you are and in the work you’ve accomplished along the way. To Manal, owning your journey means recognizing the effort it took to get where you are while being willing to put in the work required to keep growing. She encourages her students to embrace challenges, take pride in their progress, and approach their goals with confidence and determination.
