Get to Know Leila, Academic Coach
Leila brings a passion for science, education, and helping students reach their goals to her role as an Academic Coach. She is a junior at the University of Houston, where she is pursuing a degree in Biochemistry as a pre-med student. Leila plans to graduate in May 2028 and hopes to begin medical school that fall. She loves working with students because she enjoys helping them gain confidence in subjects that may initially feel challenging and watching that confidence translate into meaningful academic growth.
Where Leila Makes an Impact
Leila has built a diverse tutoring background through experiences with students of different ages and learning needs. In high school, she volunteered with the Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston, where she taught conversational English to Afghan refugees. She later worked at Mathnasium-Bellaire, helping students strengthen their math skills and develop greater confidence as learners. Through the Houston Tutorial Association, Leila worked with middle and high school students who needed additional support in Biology and Chemistry. Alongside her academic experience, she currently works part-time as a Medical Assistant at a neurology clinic under the supervision of multiple physicians and is CPR/BLS certified. At The Enrichery, Leila tutors STEM subjects across all grade levels, with a particular interest in working with middle and high school students. She also supports students preparing for the SAT, ACT, and ISEE.
Did You Know?
Leila has lived on three different continents, giving her a unique perspective on the world and the people around her. She has also raised bunnies and chickens and speaks three languages! Her diverse experiences have helped make her naturally curious, adaptable, and eager to learn about new things.
Favorite Core Value
Leila’s favorite core value is Be Intentional because she has seen how much of a difference purposeful effort can make in her own life. She believes that approaching goals with dedication and focus helps her make meaningful progress while still allowing her to appreciate the present moment. Leila applies this same mindset to her work with students, encouraging them to focus on the small, measurable steps they can take each day while keeping their bigger goals in sight. For her, being intentional means turning long-term dreams into achievable progress, one step at a time.
