Get to Know Sandy, Academic Coach

Sandy Nam earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Notre Dame, where she developed a strong passion for science, research, and education. She enjoys helping students build confidence in STEM subjects and loves seeing them discover that challenging concepts become manageable with the right guidance. Sandy’s favorite part of working with students is encouraging them to think critically while supporting them every step of the learning process. She is especially excited to help middle and high school students succeed in math, science, and test preparation.

Where Sandy Makes an Impact

Throughout college, Sandy immersed herself in research, contributing to projects ranging from ecology to molecular neuroscience. She also volunteered as a tutor at a local community center, where she enjoyed mentoring and supporting young learners. Since graduating, Sandy has served as an AmeriCorps member at a nonprofit organization that supports children in foster care, and she is now transitioning back into research to study the science behind stroke and traumatic brain injury. In addition, she is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and volunteers with a 911 emergency response agency. At The Enrichery, Sandy teaches math, science, and SAT/ACT preparation, primarily working with middle and high school students.

Did You Know?

Outside of work, Sandy enjoys staying active, cooking, and baking for family and friends. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she developed a love for making macarons and still enjoys baking them today. When it’s time to relax, you’ll often find her watching Friends or Modern Family. She appreciates opportunities to stay curious, whether she’s trying a new recipe or learning something new.

Favorite Core Value

Sandy’s favorite core value is Be Intentional because she believes every action and interaction should have purpose. She values approaching each opportunity with thoughtfulness, self-awareness, and dedication, knowing that intentional choices can have a lasting impact. For Sandy, being intentional means taking the time to understand not only what you’re doing, but why you’re doing it. She strives to bring that same mindset to every student she teaches, helping them learn with purpose and confidence.
